New Old West Saloon to Hit Old Sacramento

Old Sacramento is going to be getting a breath of fresh air soon with the opening of “Doc Holliday’s” River City Saloon.
It looks like they will be a Old west themed saloon with servers dressed in character during the day as well as an old Nickelodeon style Piano. They also will be open serving food and great entertainment till 2 am nightly.
On a recent trip to Old Sacramento, I caught up with the manager and asked him about the place. He said they were independently owned by one of the owners of Shakers Pub in Citrus Heights. He also said you should expect the same service and drink Quality as that of Shakers.
Whats great about the place is that by day it’s going to play nice with the tourists and families visiting Old Sacramento, but by night it will be a favorite place for adult couples and singles that don’t want to go to an ultra club and spend $100.00 in the first hour. He said there will be no cover (in the beginning at least), Great Drinks at friendly prices, and a fun friendly atmosphere. The music will be a mix of country, rock and top 40.
We look forward to giving this place a full review when it opens.

Wow, what has happened in old Sacramento! This should be the destination spot for people looking to go out and party! Well after a visit this past weekend, it has become a let down.
We went to several of the bars and clubs that night , from 2 grand saloon, to Fanny Ann’s and even tunnel 21. None were being run correctly. Kinda like on auto pilot.
The only one that seemed to be a good running place that night was O’Mallys.
I will go back in a few weeks to see if it was a fluke…..
