California State Fair vs California Mid State Fair

Do they compare? I have yet to be at the mid state fair but as for acts they seem to get much better bands. This year , 2008 they had John Mayer, Toby Keith , Steely Dan, Alan Jackson, Stone Temple Pilots, Matchbox Twenty, Rod Stewart, Fergie, and a few more.
So why does the State fair in Sacramento still pull acts in like, WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC ,THE FAB FOUR, AIR SUPPLY, THE LOW RIDER BAND .
We need someone getting some more current music in the state fair.

So according to a new study, Loud Music May Make You Drink More!
I drink the same all the time. Enough to get me drunk.
So Researchers visited two bars for a few Saturday nights. They observed 40 men from ages 18 to 25 who ordered beer but who did not know they were being watched. The scientists were allowed to change the volume of music before picking someone to watch.
One, in agreement with previous research on music, food and drink, high sound levels may have caused higher arousal, which led the subjects to drink faster and to order more drinks,” said Gueguen. “Two, loud music may have had a negative effect on social interaction in the bar, so that patrons drank more because they talked less.”
So who has all this time on there hands, hopefully the researchers were drinking.
Anyway, Full results will be published in the October issue of the journal Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research.

Yelp and it’s nightclub ratings

So I decided to check out some listings on a few nightclubs and found Yelp. I like the idea but wow there are some real jerks that have done reviews, looks like maybe they work for competition or something. also they stick to mostly downtown Sacramento places.
