Restaurants that Rock - Melting Pot

July 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Every once in a while, actually around every 4 months we decide to venture downtown to the Melting Pot Restaurant. It is always a great meal and I never leave there over stuffed. Tonight was no exception. We had a Pineapple Mojito, then the cheddar cheese fondue followed by a mixed salad, and my wife’s favorite part the Chocolate fondue desert. We went with the smores one tonight. Hey and here’s a money saving tip, get a free desert by signing up on their website. I just saved you $16.00. :)

Here’s a reason why you should not be a jack ass when frequenting a bar. This is from the Sacramento Bee on a fight at a bar in Citrus Heights known as “on the Rocks”

Rough justice follows bar fight, police say

By David Richie - drichie@sacbee.com

CITRUS HEIGHTS - A Folsom man who allegedly tried to run over another patron during a fight outside a bar suffered some rough western justice early Monday. Then the police showed up and took him to jail.

According to authorities, several Citrus Heights police units were called to On The Rocks, 6095 San Juan Ave., just south of Greenback Lane, about 2:30 a.m. They found Adan Castaneda Quintana, 25, face down, with multiple cuts and bruises, in the parking lot near his 1994 Mustang. The windshield was smashed.

Another patron was inside the bar with what appeared to be a broken leg, police said. Officers were told that Quintana had become involved in a fight and at one point he jumped into his Mustang, revved up and struck the other man. Other patrons evidently attacked Quintana when he got out, or was pulled out, of his vehicle. Castaneda was taken to a local hospital for treatment on his way to jail.

He remains in Sacramento County Main Jail, facing felony charges of suspicion of drunken driving with injury and suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Sacramento’s Best Neighborhood Bar

July 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Once again the bar known as Shakers Pub in Citrus Heights was honored by local TV Chanel 3 KCRA for Best Neighborhood Bar for 2008. They won a similar award the year before from the station as well.

Best put on their website Shakers Neighborhood Pub is a downtown style neighborhood pub located in the suburbs of Citrus Heights, California.

We are a place that you’re never a stranger; you’re just a new friend we have yet to meet. Some call us the Cheers of the Sacramento Area.

We take pride in having a fun, safe environment for you to come, have a few drinks and mingle without the stuffy atmosphere or overpriced drinks like so many other Bars.

With the cheapest drink prices in town Shakers is hard to beat. Pabst on Draught for just $2.25 a pint.

They have also been featured on A&E and quite a few other magazines.

Check their website out at http://www.shakerspub.com/.
